Minimum qualifications include a Merchant Mariner Document, issued by the US Coast Guard; a Passport; and admissibility to Canada.
Residence in the Puget Sound, WA. area is preferable, as repatriation to your home town is at the employees cost.

In addition, Masters & Mates looking to work in the wheelhouse need to have the endorsement of "Master (or Mate/Pilot) of Towing Vessels" endorsed on their US Coast Guard license.
